The anime movie shows both the cool and boring things about living on the edge of the law. In fact, there are a lot of funny conversations and smart exchanges in it. It’s not always sexual, romantic, or full of action. A story about a classy and smooth-talking yakuza boss and his bear of a bodyguard who just got out of jail is a good example of character-driven writing.Įven though the title, “Tweeting Birds Never Fly,” seems wrong at first, it is actually a sad summary of the events that shaped them and the sad reality that awaits them, especially in the world they live in.
